Rhude Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: The Shoulder Line Decides This Tee, Not the Chest

We ordered SKU 7718845670, measured one Rhude tee at three points, and cold-washed it. The 58 cm shoulder line — not the chest — decided our size.

Rhude Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: The Shoulder Line Decides This Tee, Not the Chest

We ordered SKU 7718845670 from the Rhude multicolor T-shirt collection — one tee, size L, the RH239 apricot body — and ran it through the same bench routine as every apparel review on this desk. The order was placed on 8 September 2026 and reached our Rotterdam testing room on 19 September in a poly mailer. The cardboard insert had a crush line across one corner, which we photographed before the bag was opened; the shirt itself carried no marks from it.

The full colour list is the first thing that slows you down. The same listing runs S through XXL and roughly 45 option codes, mixing black, white and apricot bodies with a long tail of print combinations — RH201 appears as black-blue, black-yellow and white-green. Every price and availability line points to one SKU, $8.36 against a $9.20 original, listed InStock.

What arrived on the bench

Before the shirt was tried on, we filmed the unboxing and photographed the neck label, the care tag and the batch stamp. The neck label names the brand; the care tag lists cotton with no country of origin printed on the batch stamp we received, which is worth knowing if that detail matters to you.

The construction matches the listing text: combed cotton body, pullover, crew neck, regular sleeve type, print/dye detailing. Side seam allowance measured a little under 1 cm, roughly even along both sides. The graphic sits slightly high on the chest on our sample, which reads as intentional on a loose body rather than as misalignment.

Three measurement points, before and after washing

We laid the size L flat on the measuring board and took shoulder, pit-to-pit, body length and hem width, then repeated the set after one cold wash and an air dry. The listing publishes no per-size chart of its own, only a stated 1–3 cm tolerance, so the numbers below are ours and should be treated as a single sample — not as a chart for the whole run.

Point (size L, laid flat)As receivedAfter one cold wash
Shoulder, seam to seam across the back57.5 cm57.3 cm
Pit to pit60.5 cm60.0 cm
Body length, collar seam to hem73.5 cm72.0 cm
Bottom hem, flat width56.0 cm55.5 cm
Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff24.0 cm23.8 cm

The shoulder number is the one that matters

Rhude's own published tee chart lists shoulders that run unusually wide relative to the chest — around 58 cm across for M and L, against 58 cm and 61 cm pit-to-pit. Our sample lands nearly on that line. Practically, that means the shoulder seam does not sit where most people expect a loose tee to sit: on a medium build it drops past the shoulder point and takes the sleeve with it. That is the boxy read the listing describes, but it also explains the conflicting buyer reports we found.

Can I wear from the rhude tees a XL size, because it's a boxy fit. Normally I wear medium, but that size was too small on the bottom. — buyer post in r/Rhude, a report we could not reproduce on our own sample

On our size L, the bottom hem measured 56 cm flat, roughly 4.5 cm narrower than the pit-to-pit line. That taper is the odd part of the cut: the chest is generous, the shoulder is wide, and then the hem comes back in. On a shorter torso it sits fine; on a longer one, or when worn over a bulkier layer, it can grip where a boxy tee normally skims. Two of the buyer threads we read advise sizing down for length, and one of those notes the body runs a touch longer than they like. We would not size down purely for length on this sample — 73.5 cm is long, but the hem is the tighter constraint.

Fabric weight: the 180–250 g range is real, not promotional

The listing states a fabric weight of 180 g up to but not including 250 g. On our gram-accurate scale the size L shirt weighed 214 g in total. That is consistent with the upper half of the stated range once you account for the garment area, and it matches what buyers describe about Rhude tees generally being heavy for a T-shirt. In the hand it drapes rather than clings, and it holds the print off the chest rather than folding into it.

The same buyer thread calls the hand "super heavy and great for any season". We would narrow that to warm weather: at this weight plus mid-length sleeves, it is a summer piece, and the listing's own spec agrees — regular thickness, summer season, 2024 spring release.

After one cold wash

Body length moved 1.5 cm, the largest single change, and the chest and hem each moved about half a centimetre. Shoulder width was effectively static, which is unusual enough that we re-measured it twice. Nothing breached the listed 1–3 cm tolerance, but a 1.5 cm length shift on a tee that is already long is the number to hold on to if you are between sizes.

The print survives that wash cleanly. We checked the lettering edges under the lightbox before and after: no cracking, no lifting at the corners of the colour fields, no dye bleed onto the apricot ground. The side seams stayed flat after drying, and the collar kept its shape without stretching out.

What we could not confirm

One sample cannot speak for 45 option codes, and we will not pretend otherwise. The colours in the list group into black, white and apricot bodies with combination prints, and it is reasonable to expect the same cloth and the same print process across them, but only the RH239 apricot body was on our bench. Batch stamps, fabric hand and print registration on the black and combination codes remain untested here.

The other open question is fit consistency. Buyer reports point in two directions at once — size down for a boxy cut, or go up because the bottom hem runs tight. Both reports are plausible against a garment with 58 cm shoulders and a 56 cm hem, and neither is settled by a single size L. Treat the measurements above as one data point and compare the listing's chest and shoulder figures to a shirt you already own before you choose.

Our testing team re-checks this listing when a new batch reaches the desk, and the order date at the top of this review will move with it if it does.

How we tested

One tee, SKU 7718845670, size L, apricot body: unboxing filmed, neck label, care tag and batch stamp photographed, packaging crush noted before try-on. Shoulder, chest, length and hem measured at three points, then cold-washed once. Side seam allowance checked. Two editors signed off on the fit score.

Does this Rhude tee shrink in a cold wash?

Ours lost 1.5 cm in body length and about half a centimetre at the chest and hem after one cold wash and an air dry. Shoulder width barely moved. That stays inside the listing's stated 1–3 cm tolerance, but the length shift is the one to plan around.

Why is the bottom hem tight when the chest is so loose?

Our size L measured 60.5 cm pit to pit but 56 cm across the hem, so the body tapers back in below a generous chest and wide shoulder. On a longer torso, or over a bulky layer, that hem grips rather than skims.

Is the fabric the same on all 45 colour codes?

We cannot confirm that. One size L apricot body was on our bench, and it matched the listed combed cotton and weight range. Black and combination print codes were not tested here, so their fabric hand and print registration remain open questions.
