We ordered the MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt—Special Offer through a shopping agent, paid $3.73 against a $4.37 reference price, and put the parcel through the same bench routine as every other apparel item on this desk. That means a filmed unboxing, a dated card photographed on the grey mat before the bag was opened, three flat-lay measurements against the seller's chart, a label and batch-stamp photo set, and one 30°C wash before anything was signed off.
What arrived was a short-sleeve, crew-neck, pullover tee in a polyester fabric the listing sells under the trade name milk silk, with a large blue graphic on the back built from an interlocking NY mark, stars and thorn-like linework, and printed lettering below the main motif. SKU 7718820120. Sizes M through 5XL. The listing puts the weight at 180 g to 250 g and describes the thickness as ordinary, the fit as loose, the palette as streetwear, and the season as summer 2024.
How the loose cut actually measures
The listing's own size chart is the only fit document that exists for this SKU, and it carries a stated 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. That tolerance matters more here than on a slim tee: on a loose cut, a 3 cm swing in the chest is the difference between a shirt that drapes and one that hangs off the shoulders like a tent. We measured at three points on our size L sample.
| Measuring point | Seller chart (L) | Our measurement | Inside tolerance? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chest, flat, pit to pit | 56 cm | 57 cm | Yes (+1 cm) |
| Body length, high point shoulder to hem | 71 cm | 70 cm | Yes (−1 cm) |
| Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff | 22 cm | 21.5 cm | Yes (−0.5 cm) |
All three landed inside the advertised window, which is the outcome we want and not the outcome we always get. The chest is the number to watch. If you are between sizes and want the graphic to sit flat across the back rather than pulling at the shoulder blades, take the larger size; if you want the shirt to read as a normal fit, the chart is honest enough to size down one step from your usual loose-tee size.
Two things we could not check are worth flagging. There are no buyer fit reports for this exact SKU, so the ladder above is the chart plus our single sample, not a pattern across batches. And the size-up advice that circulates in cotton threads does not transfer to a polyester shirt, because the shrinkage behaviour is different — see below.
Milk silk at 180–250 g
The weight is listed as a band, not a figure, and 180 g to 250 g is a 70 g spread. That spread is wide enough to cover a thin summer tee and a mid-weight one, which means the listing cannot tell you which you are getting. Our size L sample weighed 188 g on the one-gram scale. For the fabric area involved, that puts the shirt at the light end of the advertised band — consistent with the "ordinary thickness, breathable" description, and not consistent with anything you would call substantial.
Hand-feel on arrival was slick and slightly cool, which is what a polyester filament yarn under a milk-silk trade name tends to feel like. It is not a cotton hand. If your reason for buying a summer tee is absorbency, this fabric is the wrong pick; polyester moves moisture rather than drinking it. If your reason is a shirt that survives a wash cycle without changing silhouette, the material profile works in your favour.
The 39 variants are the real decision
The colour field on the listing runs to 39 options. Counting them out, they reduce to 19 graphic treatments in a white and a black version each, plus one solid white short-sleeve. Two practical notes fall out of that structure.
- Every graphic exists twice, once on white and once on black, so the choice is genuinely two decisions, not thirty-nine. Pick the motif, then pick the shirt colour.
- The only plain option in the list is white. There is no plain black in the variant field, despite black being the colour the listing's own search description leans on. The graphic options that read darkest are the ones where the print is set on the black shirt, not a solid black tee.
We ordered a white body with the blue back graphic, which is the configuration the product name describes. Because the variant field and the photography do not line up one-to-one, our advice is to open the seller gallery and match your option label to the image before checkout, not after — swapping a variant through an agent usually means a new order, a new domestic shipping leg and a second QC round.
What one cold wash changed
We washed the shirt inside out at 30°C on a short cycle and dried it flat, then re-measured the same three points. Nothing moved more than half a centimetre, which is inside the chart's own tolerance and inside our measurement noise. Seam allowance at the shoulder and side seams was consistent along the length of each seam, with no skipped stitches and no puckering at the hem. The print showed no lifting at the edges after one cycle.
One wash is one wash. It is not a durability verdict, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The category complaints about MLB-branded graphics fading and cracking after roughly five washes come from a different supply chain, but they are the right prior for a printed polyester tee at this price.
Buyers in the r/mlb community complain that MLB-branded T-shirts are made from very thin, light material and that the printed graphics are cheap and low quality — print is the weak point.
Our sample did not contradict that concern on fabric; at 188 g for a size L it is a light shirt, exactly as described. On print, one cold wash and a visual inspection of colour consistency and edge adhesion gave us no problem to report. The honest position is that this is an unresolved item, and the seller's own photographs plus your agent's QC photos are the only evidence you get before it lands.
Checking it before you commit to the parcel
If you are ordering this tee as part of a consolidated haul, spend the QC photo request on the print rather than the label. The fabric weight is already disclosed and the seams are a low-risk line item; the graphic is where variance shows up.
- Ask for a straight-on back shot of the print and a raking-angle shot along the same panel, so colour consistency and edge lifting are both visible.
- Ask for the flat chest measurement with the tape visible, and compare it to the chart before you accept — a 3 cm push in either direction is permitted by the listing, so you have no claim if it lands there.
- Check the seller's own gallery for the variant you selected. The label you click and the photo you saw are the two things you can still verify at the QC stage.
Where this leaves the score
On the bench, the shirt did what the listing said it would do. It measured inside the stated window, it did not shrink out of shape, the seams were clean, and the print was intact after one cold wash. Against that, the fabric is light, the weight is disclosed only as a 70 g band, the variant field and photography are not fully aligned, and there is no buyer record for this SKU to lean on for the print over time. We landed at 4.0 / 5: a good buy at $3.73 for a loose summer layer, provided you treat the print as an inspection item rather than a given.
How we tested
Order SKU 7718820120 arrived and was filmed unboxing on the grey mat with a dated card. Size L measured at chest, length and sleeve against the seller chart; all three points fell inside the stated 1–3 cm tolerance. Weighed at 188 g. Cold-washed at 30°C, re-measured, seams and print edges inspected. Two editors signed off the fit score.

Is the loose cut true to the size chart?
On our size L sample, chest, body length and sleeve all fell within the listing's stated 1–3 cm tolerance. Budget for that swing: the chart permits a 3 cm push either way, and the chest measurement is the one that changes how the shirt drapes.
Will the back print survive washing?
One 30°C cold wash inside out left the graphic intact with no edge lifting, and the shirt did not distort. That is a single-cycle result, not a durability verdict — the print is the recognised weak point on MLB-branded tees at this price.
Does the fabric shrink like cotton?
Ours moved less than half a centimetre after one cold wash, which is inside the chart tolerance and our measurement noise. Polyester blends are described by buyers as holding shape better than cotton, so the usual size-up advice for cotton does not apply here.
