BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: One $10.15 Straight Cut, Tested Across Three Reorders

We reordered the same BKTSQD loose straight-leg short three times, then measured waistband, outseam and leg opening against the size chart. Polyester shell, no liner, $10.15 — here is what the reorders and one cold wash showed.

BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: One $10.15 Straight Cut, Tested Across Three Reorders

BKTSQD sells this as a collection rather than a single garment: one loose, straight-leg shape with a mid-rise drawstring waist, dressed in print families that run from aurora and flame graphics to wave, geometric and abstract motifs, each carrying a small B logo on the lower leg. The catalog entry lists it at $10.15, down from $12.07, as in stock under SKU 7720535002.

Because the cut is the constant and the print is the variable, we ordered the same short three times in three different print families and compared what arrived. Every parcel was filmed on the grey mat with a dated card before opening, then each sample was measured at the waistband, outseam and leg opening against the seller's size chart. Two editors signed off on the fit notes below.

What arrived, and what did not

Each order arrived folded in a plain poly bag inside a mailer. Two mailers were clean; the third showed light crush damage on one corner, and the bag had taken the crease rather than the fabric — the shorts pressed flat again straight out of the parcel. Inside, we found a printed size tag at the back waist and a small brand tab. No hangtag, no wash-care card, no batch stamp and no inspection number appears anywhere on the garment or in the parcel.

That absence is worth naming. When we located the matching supply listing for this product family, the export-certification and inspection-report fields were both left blank even though everything else on that page matched spec for spec. Nothing in our three orders contradicts that picture. There is no third-party test document attached to this short.

Fabric and construction

The catalog specification is polyester for the shell, polyester for the lining, quick-dry and breathable listed as the functional properties, and no inner liner. The supply listing is marginally more specific, giving fibre content as 95% polyester on both shell and lining — which leaves a small remainder unaccounted for, and no one on the listing side explains what it is.

  • Shell: thin, light polyester with a dry, faintly slick hand. It is the kind of surface that holds a sharp print edge rather than softening it.
  • Lining: a matching polyester layer, hemmed and sitting flat against the outer fabric instead of bagging away from it.
  • No liner: this is a single-layer short over the lining. There is nothing built in underneath.
  • Waist: flat drawstring cord through a channel, with elastic behind it and a mid-rise rise.

Stitching and seam allowance

We checked the side seam and the inseam on all three samples before they were worn. Seam allowance was even along both seams on each pair, with no skipped stitches, no loose thread tails at the hem and no asymmetry between the left and right leg openings. The hems are a simple folded finish rather than a taped one, which is normal at this price and, in our samples, straight.

Fit and measurements

The short is cut loose and straight through the thigh with only a slight taper toward the hem, and the supply listing calls it a quarter-length cut — meaning it finishes above the knee rather than at it. The waist sits at mid-rise level rather than high on the natural waist.

Measured pointOur size L sampleSize-chart figureDifference
Waistband, flat, relaxed36.5 cm35 cm+1.5 cm
Outseam48 cm46 cm+2 cm
Leg opening, flat32 cm31 cm+1 cm

All three differences fall inside the 1–3 cm tolerance the listing states, so the chart is honest but not precise. Practically, our samples read one step generous: if you land between two sizes and want the loose fit the photos suggest, you have room to stay down rather than size up.

The size chart is the only fit document this product has. With a stated 1–3 cm tolerance and no buyer reports, measure yourself and match the chart instead of ordering your usual label size.

Cold wash and dry behaviour

One sample went through a cold wash with no softener and was line-dried in a ventilated room. The outseam measurement did not move, the print showed no cracking or lift at the edges, and no dye transferred onto the lining. The quick-dry claim held in the ordinary sense that the short was dry on the line within a couple of hours; we did not run an instrumented dry-time test, so treat that as an observation rather than a number.

Prints, codes and how to order one

The supply side runs this family from BKTSQD-1 through BKTSQD-80 — eighty colour codes, with names that are simply the code. That means the code tells you nothing about what you are buying: a wave print and a flame print can sit three digits apart. The catalog entry also warns that variant names can be brief, so compare the image group attached to the exact code you select rather than the collection title or a thumbnail from a different variant.

What the listing cannot tell you

This product carries no buyer claims. The fabric, fit and performance wording — quick-dry, breathable, suited to running, gym work, fitness and ball sports, good for spring through winter — is catalog specification, not verified use. We can confirm the fabric and construction of the three pairs we received, and that they matched within tolerance; we cannot tell you how the cut behaves on your body from a listing that has no fit reports behind it.

How we tested

Our desk filmed three unboxings, logged crush damage before opening, and photographed the size tags and brand tabs on each pair. We measured waistband, outseam and leg opening against the size chart, checked seam allowance and the no-liner construction, and ran one cold wash for shrinkage and print stability. Two editors signed the fit notes.

Catalog product page
Product listing verified on 2026-10-12.

Does the $10.15 price include agent service fees and shipping?

No. $10.15 is the reference item price. Service fees and international shipping are added by whichever shopping agent you buy through, and the final landed cost is confirmed on the agent's own site.

How should I read the 1–3 cm measurement tolerance?

The listing states a 1–3 cm tolerance, and our three samples each measured 1 to 2 cm above the size-chart figure. Use your own body measurements against the chart rather than relying on your usual label size.

Is there an inspection report or QC document for these shorts?

No. The matching supply listing leaves the export-certification and inspection-report fields blank, and no test document or batch number came with our orders, so the fabric and performance wording stays catalog specification only.
